Overview

Inner Garden is a playful, experimental digital experience that explores the relationship between human emotions and nature, inspired by the idea of an AI-curated emotional landscape.

The Idea

The Idea

We all have complicated feelings throughout the day – anxious, excited, sometimes just... meh.

Traditional mood trackers are basically glorified spreadsheets. But what if instead of clicking sad face emojis, you could plant a seed?

That's how Inner Garden was born.

Pick an emotion, click anywhere on your canvas, and watch a unique plant grow that represents exactly how you're feeling. Over time, you create this wild, organic garden that's basically a living map of your emotional landscape.

Why I Built This

Why I Built This

I created this quirky little emotion tracker because, honestly, filling out mood journals felt boring and can be intimidating. This is meant to be a gentle, pressure-free way to acknowledge your feelings without overthinking it. I wanted to make something that felt less like "self-care homework" and more like creative play.

The designer in me is always fascinated by generative art and how we can visualise abstract concepts like emotions in tangible ways.

After joining the team, I identified core usability breakdowns across the platform: inconsistent patterns, poor information hierarchy, lack of modular components & confusing workflows.
The goal wasn’t just to “modernise” the look—but to rebuild the platform from a systems thinking and logic-first lens.
